Sand and Shadow

Sand and Shadow is about balance, the calm that comes when light and dark are given equal space.

Soft black and deep brown forms rest on a warm sand ground, sculpted in thick plaster that catches the light along every ridge. The composition breathes, with room around each shape to let the eye settle.

Sand and Shadow anchors living rooms, bedrooms and hallways in Japandi, Scandinavian and modern schemes, and pairs beautifully with Quiet Hills.

Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, from the German paper mill that has been perfecting fine art paper since 1584. A 100% cotton rag, acid free paper with a soft, velvety matte surface that holds deep blacks and subtle tones without glare. With archival pigment inks it is made to last for more than 100 years, which is why galleries, museums and fine art photographers rely on it, and why it is the benchmark for limited edition prints.

Mila Sorel. A Canvalora studio identity for calm, sculptural abstracts in sand, clay and charcoal, with the layered texture of plaster and pigment, rooted in wabi sabi. See every work by Mila Sorel.
